From Library Instruction Wiki

James is Communications Officer for the Research Information Network (RIN (http://www.rin.ac.uk)).

The RIN exists to help researchers, and it does this in part by helping service providers to researchers, such as libraries.

Here's a chunk of text on what the RIN does, taken from its website (http://www.rin.ac.uk):

The Research Information Network was set up in 2005 to lead and co-ordinate the provision of research information in the UK. Its ambition is to serve the research community by helping to cut paths through the ever-growing and increasingly-complex mass of information that underpins the work of all researchers.

As their Communications Officer, I am of course looking to spread the word of the RIN, such as through our Team Blog (http://www.rin.ac.uk), or by offering potentially useful comments on wikis such as this one.
