Summative assessment

The process of gathering information at the end of a course of study, course or other defined learning process. This type of assessment can be used to measure the effectiveness of an instruction program, curriculum, class or instructor. It can also be used to improve instruction delivery for students who will be engaged in the learning process in question at some future time.
