Social Bookmarking

  1. Read Seven Things You Should Know About Social Bookmarking. (http://www.educause.edu/ir/library/pdf/ELI7001.pdf)
  2. Check out some of these social bookmarking sites:
    • del.icio.us
    • Netvouz (http://www.netvouz.com/)
    • Connotea (http://www.connotea.org/)
    • CiteULike (http://www.citeulike.org/)
    • JumpTags (http://www.jumptags.com/index.cfm)
    • Another site worth looking into is Digg (http://digg.com), which has some similar features to social bookmarking sites, but is more of a social reorganization of media.
    • Also look at Kaboodle (http://www.kaboodle.com/), which is a shopping oriented social bookmark network site.
  3. Put the URLs in a folder on your Firefox browser.
  4. Write a blog post about one of these things: How do these sites compare to each other? Which one are you most drawn to? What do you think of social bookmarking?
